Terms of Service

Application: Donjons & Savons
Region: France
Audience: Adults (18+)
Version: 1, in force as of 22 September 2026

1. Publisher and contact

The "Donjons & Savons" application (hereinafter "the Application") is published by Grisloup, the trading name of MARCHAL DE GREEF Guillaume, sole trader, 20 rue Lavoisier, 95300 Pontoise, France, SIREN 109354092, RCS Pontoise, grisloup.com. Telephone: +33 7 44 47 09 44. For any question, complaint or support request, write to donjons@grisloup.com. The Application is hosted on Google Cloud / Firebase infrastructure (Google Ireland Ltd), with data stored in the European Union.

2. Purpose and description of the service

Donjons & Savons is a family game that turns household chores into a role-playing adventure: the members of a single family form a "clan", chores are represented as monsters, and completing them earns experience points, levels and rewards defined by the adults of the clan (the "loot"). The Application is a playful family-organisation tool; it does not provide any childcare, educational or supervision service.

Access to the Application is free at the outset, with no subscription and no time limit. Beyond a certain amount of use, it is based on a subscription. A shop also offers content available for one-off purchase. The Application contains no advertising.

Payment failure. If a payment cannot be collected, a deliberately long schedule applies before any irreversible consequence. It runs from the first uncollected payment:

Any change to these offers will be subject to prior notice and to a new version of these terms.

3. Acceptance, age and legal states

Using the Application constitutes acceptance of these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the Application.

On first sign-in, the Application asks for your date of birth in order to determine your legal status: "child" or "adult". The threshold is 18: anyone under 18 is treated as a minor. The Application is therefore stricter than Article 8 of the GDPR, which lets each Member State set between 13 and 16 the age at which a minor may consent on their own (15 in France): we never rely on that option and always require the legal guardian's consent. That date of birth is not kept; only the resulting status is recorded. Access to the adult journey is protected by a parental gate (a timed arithmetic puzzle). Minor users are shown a version of these terms written in accessible language; their use of the Application is subject to the consent of a responsible adult (see section 6).

The information you provide to the Application is purely declarative. This includes your date of birth, your status as an adult, your status as the legal guardian of a minor, and the age of the people you let play. The Application performs no identity verification and no third-party age verification. The parental gate is a good-practice measure, not a foolproof age-verification mechanism: it is designed to keep a child out of a journey reserved for adults, not to establish with certainty who is using the device.

You are solely responsible for the accuracy and truthfulness of the information you declare, and for the consequences of an inaccurate declaration, in particular a minor gaining access to the adult journey, or a minor's data being collected by someone who is not their legal guardian. The publisher disclaims all liability in the event of a false declaration, to the extent permitted by law. If you become aware that an incorrect declaration has been made, correct it from the Application or report it to donjons@grisloup.com.

The Application also asks you to select a storage region. Data is stored in the selected region and cannot be migrated to another region. If the Application is reinstalled, a region will have to be selected again; data associated with another selection will not be transferred. A clan lives in a single storage region: all its members must have selected the same region. An invitation issued in another region cannot be accepted, and the Application says so clearly. Each region has its own terms of service and its own privacy policy, adapted to the law applicable to it: these terms are those of the France region and apply to it alone. The list of open regions and the full set of documents for each is available at donjons.grisloup.com/en/legal.

4. Account and sign-in

You sign in to the Application with a Google account. You are responsible for keeping your authentication credentials confidential. Accounts are personal and non-transferable. You agree to provide accurate information and to comply with applicable laws.

5. Clans, roles and invitations

The first adult who creates a clan becomes the clan chief. Clan chiefs have administration functions: managing and configuring tasks, validating completed work, filling and distributing the loot, inviting and removing members, and promoting other adults to the clan chief role. These functions are reserved for adults.

A clan can only be joined by invitation from a clan chief: by scanning a QR code, or through an encrypted invitation link accompanied by a confidential code communicated by word of mouth. For a minor, the invitation is only created once the adult has read the wish to play that the minor presented to them (article 6). There is no clan directory, no search, and no way to discover a clan you have not been invited to. Clans are sealed off from one another: no clan can view another clan's data.

Several clans. A player may belong to several clans, 8 at most, with a separate character in each. Their nickname, their avatar and the title they wear follow them from one clan to another: the members of each of their clans can see them. Everything else (experience, level, items, chores, clan activity log, money) stays specific to each clan. A minor only enters another clan under the conditions of section 6.

Both a character's nickname and a clan's name have an internal version (chosen by you, visible only within the clan) and an external version generated by the Application, unrelated to the first one: it is the only one the Application would use outside the clan. You agree not to use names or nicknames that are abusive, discriminatory or unlawful, and not to include personal data in them (surname, address, school, etc.).

6. Minors: parental consent and responsibility

By accepting these terms and letting a minor play in their clan, the responsible adult:

The act of inviting a minor into a clan or creating a profile for them constitutes the exercise of that consent. It remains valid until it is withdrawn, which is done under the conditions of section 11.

The minor first says whether they wish to play, then the adult decides. Once they have accepted the version of these terms written for them, the minor indicates, on their own device, whether they wish to play. That wish contains no personal data: only the date it was expressed, the language, the region, the version of the text shown to the minor and a random six-character verification code. It is shown to the adult as a QR code, or sent to them as a link; the adult reads it, then decides. The adult's decision and the minor's wish are recorded together, then attached to the minor's profile when the minor joins the clan, at the adult's invitation, by signing in to their account. Before that sign-in, no information about the minor is recorded, either on their device or on our servers. If they do not go ahead, nothing is kept and they can come back later.

The clan a minor first enters is their clan of origin: the adult who accepted their entry into it, declaring that they are the minor's legal guardian, is their legal guardian in the Application. The evidence of that declaration is kept with the evidence of acceptance of these terms.

Entering another clan. A minor who already belongs to a clan can only join another one with the prior authorisation of one of their legal guardians. The guardian gives it to the adult who welcomes the minor: in person, by scanning the QR code shown by that clan's chief, or remotely, through a link together with a six-digit code. The guardian then sees the name of that clan and the name of its chief. The authorisation allows the minor to enter that clan within 7 days. The minor's Application checks it before any entry: without it, the minor is not admitted.

Several legal guardians. Another adult who is also the minor's legal guardian (for example the other parent) can be recognised as such in the Application through the same kind of exchange, in person with a QR code or remotely with a link and a code: the legal guardian chooses the minor, then the other adult declares, on their own device, that they are the minor's legal guardian. All legal guardians then have the same rights: bringing the minor into their clan without authorisation, authorising another clan, removing the minor from a clan, withdrawing or restoring consent, declaring the minor an adult. Once recognised, this role cannot be taken away from anyone.

Removing the minor from a clan. A legal guardian may at any time remove the minor from any of their clans except their clan of origin. The minor's Application applies the removal: the minor no longer receives anything from that clan, notifications included, even before reopening the game, and their data in that clan is erased like that of any member who leaves it.

Consent and coming of age. For a minor who plays on their own phone, only their legal guardians, and not the other chiefs of their clan of origin, can withdraw consent or declare them an adult. Withdrawal of consent applies to all of the minor's clans, with the same 3-day reflection period. The declaration of majority is made by a legal guardian; the young person then accepts these terms themselves, which switches them to adult status in all their clans.

Deleting a legal guardian's account. The only legal guardian of a minor cannot delete their own account: they must first have another legal guardian recognised, or delete the minor's account. When a minor has several legal guardians, deleting the account of one of them does not delete the minor; if their clan of origin is then dissolved, the clan of another of their legal guardians, of which the minor is a member, becomes their clan of origin.

This declaration and this consent are restated in the Application at the very moment of the act (on the screen for inviting a member, which also shows the minor's wish to play, and on the screen for creating a player profile) together with a link to these terms. The status of legal guardian you declare there falls under section 3: it is declarative and is your responsibility alone.

An adult of the clan may create a player profile for a child who does not have their own device, and play on their behalf from their own phone. As long as they play this way, that child stays in a single clan. Withdrawal of consent for that child is then still offered to the chiefs of that clan. A legal guardian may declare the minor they answer for an adult once that minor has come of age; that player must then accept these terms themselves in order to keep playing. A child who does not have their own phone must first take over their profile on their own phone before they can be declared an adult.

7. Content generated by artificial intelligence

The Application calls the Google Gemini artificial-intelligence API to produce certain narrative and playful content. That call only takes place upon the explicit action of a user, in five cases:

For that last use, the clan name, its description and the clan's event log (which contains the nicknames chosen by the players) are transmitted to the model. No other personal data is sent to it: no account identifier, no date of birth, no photo, no video. Processing is carried out on infrastructure located in the European Union. This content is generated automatically and for purely recreational purposes; by using the Application, you accept that it may contain imperfections.

The content produced is meant to be read by children: the model's safety filters are set to the strictest level the interface offers, for the four categories of harmful content (harassment, hate speech, sexually explicit content, dangerous content), and that setting is imposed by our servers and not by the device. The instructions given to the model further bound the register: no violence towards any person or animal, nothing frightening, no adult themes, no coarse language. The help assistant reserved for adult players is the only exception: its answers are read by an adult, and its filters only block content with a high probability of being harmful. At the strictest level, the game's vocabulary (monsters, battles, a character who dies) caused most ordinary questions from parents to be refused; the model remains bound by its instructions to refuse any inappropriate content.

8. Personal data

The processing of personal data is described in the Donjons & Savons Privacy Policy, also available in the Application. In short: the Application only collects the minimum needed for it to work (account identifier, region, minor/adult status, nicknames and game data), does not keep your date of birth, never uploads chore photos or videos to its servers (videos, 15 seconds at most, are recorded without sound: the Application has no access to the microphone), shows no advertising and uses no advertising identifier. You can delete your data at any time from the Application or via donjons.grisloup.com/delete-account.

The Application relies on Google services (Firebase, Google Cloud, Google Play, Gemini API); their use implies the processing of certain data by Google as a processor, under the conditions described in the Privacy Policy.

9. Intellectual property

The Application, its universe, texts, illustrations, logos and audio elements are protected by intellectual property law and remain the exclusive property of the publisher or its licensors. The publisher grants you a personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use the Application, limited to family and private use. Any reproduction or commercial exploitation without authorisation is prohibited.

The Application allows certain content to be shared voluntarily (invitation to join a clan, the clan's activity log or the adventure story drawn from it, a gift code) by means of the sharing applications on your device. You are solely responsible for the shares you make and for their destination. Sharing is reserved for the adults of the clan.

10. Availability and limitation of liability

The Application evolves regularly: features may be added, changed or discontinued, and the service may contain defects. The publisher strives to keep the service available but does not guarantee uninterrupted access, nor the absence of data loss. To the extent permitted by law, the publisher's liability is limited to direct and foreseeable damage resulting from a breach attributable to it. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits the rights granted to consumers by law, nor the publisher's liability in the event of gross negligence or personal injury attributable to it.

The game's rewards ("loot", "favours", promised pocket money) are commitments made between members of the same family. The publisher is not a party to them and in no way guarantees their performance.

11. Deleting an account or a clan

Subscription: cancel first. Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription: it is managed by the download platform, outside the Application, and would keep being billed even though you no longer have access to the service. Cancel it from the subscription settings of your Google account before deleting your Donjons & Savons account. Content bought in the shop is lost along with the account and gives rise to no refund.

You can delete your account and your data at any time from the Application or via donjons.grisloup.com/delete-account. A clan chief can delete their clan; this operation deletes the clan's data. A founder who is the only remaining member of their clan can also leave it: the clan is then dissolved. Deletion is final: you will not be able to recover your data, and if you play again later you will start over from scratch.

It happens in three stages:

Deleting a minor's data. Consent given for a minor is withdrawn from the Application, through the option provided in their character's menu: for a minor who plays on their own phone, it is reserved to their legal guardians; for a child who plays on an adult's phone, it is offered to the chiefs of their clan (section 6). The only legal guardian of a minor cannot delete their own account, from the Application or via donjons.grisloup.com/delete-account, without first having another legal guardian recognised or deleting the minor's account. Deleting the clan chief's account dissolves their clan and, by cascade, the profiles of the minors whose clan of origin it was and who no longer have any legal guardian, as well as any other profile that no longer belongs to an active clan; a minor who keeps another legal guardian is not deleted. These operations follow the schedule set out above.

Inactive clan. A clan with no current subscription none of whose members has signed in for two years is dissolved, following the timetable above and with the same cascading effects as the deletion of a clan chief's account. The adults of the clan are warned in advance: a reminder every six months, unless they have turned reminders off, then a notice one month before the dissolution, which is sent to them in every case. A single sign-in by any member of the clan is enough to prevent it. A clan whose subscription is current is never dissolved for inactivity.

The publisher may suspend or delete an account in the event of a serious breach of these terms, in particular in the event of misuse of the Application or of unlawful content.

12. Governing law and complaints

These terms are governed by French law, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer-protection provisions applicable in your country of residence within the European Union. In the event of a dispute, an amicable solution will be sought first: contact us at donjons@grisloup.com. You retain in any event the right to bring proceedings before the competent court of your place of residence.
