Some pools may need chemical treatment. To make sure the new material lasts, you can use a sandblaster and chisel. You should only focus on a small portion of the pool at once. Depending on the size of your pool, this can take upto three days.

For most pools, a primer epoxy will be needed before applying the refinishing product. Use masks or gloves to block chemicals and harmful fumes. After priming the pool, let the primer dry completely. Depending on the size your pool, this should take around two to four hours.
