Eligibility
Futures works in collaboration with the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) in order to provide quality support throughout your candidacy. As a result, Futures candidates must be eligible for DVR services to qualify for our services. If you have questions around eligibility, please consult a Futures staff member.
To be determined eligible
You must have a documentable disability (physical, mental, or learning disability etc.)
Your disability must create barriers to you obtaining, preforming, keeping or advancing in a job.
You must need our services in order to work successfully.
DVR notes, if you are eligible for Social Security Disability (SSDI) or Supplemental Security Income (SSI), you are presumed to be eligible for DVR services, if you plan to go to work. If your DVR Counselor questions whether or not your disability may make it difficult to benefit from employment services, trial work experiences will be arranged with you. This will help your DVR counselor determine whether you are eligible.
In an effort to ensure a quality individualized experience with Futures, staff dedicates significant time and effort in cultivating interest specific experiences with local businesses and institutions to help you achieve your goals. While we aim to continue to provide this level of experience, we ask your patience in this cultivation period.
It is woven into Futures infrastructure that candidates make informed choices around their future goals. Informed choice ensures that candidates have access to all the necessary resources and current information to guide the development of your experience. This decision making should incorporate your interests, strengths, priorities, concerns, abilities, and untapped capabilities. We will then use these in the development of your Individualized Employment Plan and as the cornerstone of your experience with Futures.
