1. Cut the Lumber

2. Assemble the Base
Attach the base pieces to the supports using wood glue and 1-1/4" screws. Ensure the supports are perpendicular to the base. Use clamps to hold the pieces together while the glue dries.
3. Build the Main Frame
Attach the main frame pieces to the top of the supports using wood glue and 2-1/2" screws. The main frame should be flush with the top of the supports. Again, use clamps to ensure a tight bond.
4. Add the Shelf
Attach the shelf to the inside of the main frame using wood glue and 1-1/4" screws. The shelf should be about 6" from the bottom of the main frame.
5. Attach the Canvas Support
Attach the canvas support to the inside of the main frame using wood glue and 1-1/4" screws. The canvas support should be about 2" from the top of the main frame. You can also add a small lip to the top of the canvas support to keep your canvas in place.
6. Sand and Finish
Once the glue has dried, sand the easel with 120-grit sandpaper to smooth any rough edges. If desired, stain or paint the easel to match your workspace.
