GDPR and your data

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into force on 25 May 2018. The legislation is designed to make sure organisations protect their customers’ or supporters’ information, and respect their choices in the communications they receive.

Of course this applies to Greenpeace too. We have always kept our supporters’ information safe and secure and honoured your preferences in how we keep you updated about the difference you can make by signing petitions, donating, campaigning and volunteering – but GDPR demands even stricter rules and more transparent processes, and we think this is a good thing.

We will continue to update you regarding our campaigns if you previously gave us permission to do so, but we have introduced various measures to ensure that we manage these communications and your personal information in a way that is GDPR compliant whilst providing you with the tools you need to manage your data.

Updated privacy policy

You can be confident that any information you provide us is safe and secure. Read more about this and how we use your data in our updated privacy policy.
