I first became aware of environmental issues during an assembly in primary school when a guest speaker talked to us about how human activity has been having a catastrophic effect on our planet. Protecting the planet requires collective action, which in turn requires a lot more greenspeaking! I initially became involved with Greenpeace when I was living in France and attended some of their talks – it’s so exciting being involved with such an international organisation! Outside of Greenpeace activities, I have worked with primary, secondary and university students and am happy to tailor my presentations to suit your group’s needs.

We live in an amazingly beautiful world, yet this beauty is often in danger. I remember when I was much younger seeing a magazine cover of a wonderful Arctic landscape which was melting – it made me realise I had to do something myself, and try to be part of the solution.

That’s why I joined Greenpeace, to keep our planet green and make it peaceful! I’m a teacher so I understand the impact that passing on knowledge can have…and as a Greenspeaker, I want to tell our campaign stories, and help people to change the world for the better.

To be a part of Greenpeace is very empowering. They are doing amazing work to protect our planet and ecosystem. We are in danger of losing what makes the world such a unique and beautiful place and every step must be taken in order to prevent that from happening.

Alongside my Greenpeace involvement I am currently studying politics. Through Greenpeace and my studies, I have been able to engross myself in the environmental issues we face and want to play my own role in protecting our planet. I believe that every individual is capable of making positive changes big or small.

What inspires me so much about Greenpeace? The non-negotiable non-violence is a key core value for me. That and just going out there and getting things done, the things we all know deep down to be right.

My day job is very much in-keeping with Greenpeace values, as a Global Learning Adviser with a small not-for-profit organisation which is trying to make the world a fairer, more sustainable and peaceful place through education for change. When I’m not trying to save the world (is there ever off-duty time?) I enjoy cycling, gardening and trying out new vegan recipes on my husband!
