It’s around this time where we often get messages from some of our customers asking one particular question “How do you get red (or white & rose, we don’t discriminate) wine out of carpets and upholstery?”

It can be tough and very frustrating dealing with stains – especially if you didn’t make them! Just remember each type of carpet and material might require different cleaning methods, but in general we find these tips will help with 90% of your red wine stains. If you don’t have the time and energy to do this why not enlist the help of the professionalscontact us here for a free, fair quote.

Upholstery
  1. Blot and dab up as much of the spillage as possible.
  2. Mix 1-2 tablespoons of liquid hand dish washing detergent (e.g. fairy liquid!) with two cups of cool water.
  3. Use a clean white cloth and lightly sponge the stain with the detergent solution.
  4. Blot and dab until the liquid is absorbed.
  5. Repeat Steps 3 and 4 until the stain disappears – deep stains equals more blotting!
  6. Finally, sponge with cold water and dab dry.
