A guide to vinyl wrap finishes

Architectural wrap film comes in hundreds of finishes. KWrap's colour and finish library lists all 409 finishes in the SOIF range with their codes. This guide explains the families and where each one works best.

Wood effect

The largest family, because wood suits so many rooms. Light oak and ash give a calm, Scandinavian kitchen; walnut and smoked oak add warmth; painted woods give a cottage look with texture. Good wood films have a real grain texture you can feel, not just a printed pattern. See the wood effect films.

Solid colours

Plain colours from white and cream to navy, sage, charcoal and black, in gloss, satin and matt. Solid colours are the usual choice for modern handleless kitchens and for a two-tone scheme with a contrasting island. Browse solid colour films.

Soft-touch matt

A super-matt surface with a velvety feel that hides reflections and looks expensive in person. It is popular for dark kitchens, where gloss shows every fingerprint.

Marble and stone

White marbles, travertine, slate and granite effects, mostly used on worktops, splashbacks, bathroom walls outside the shower and reception counters. See marble and stone finishes.

Metallic, concrete, fabric and leather

Brushed metals suit lift interiors, door panels and accents. Concrete effects give an industrial look without the weight. Fabric and leather textures are used on wall panels, headboards and furniture, especially in hotels and offices.

Choosing in your own light

A finish on a phone screen never looks the same as film in your room. KWrap brings physical samples to hold against your walls, floor and worktops before you choose.

Questions

Can you match a specific colour or film code?

If you have a film code, KWrap can usually source it. For a paint colour, the closest film is matched using samples.

Which finish is hardest wearing?

Textured wood and matt films hide marks well in busy kitchens. Very high gloss shows scratches and fingerprints more easily.
