Trending Kitchen Colors in 2022: The Most Popular Shades
As we step into 2022, homeowners and interior designers are embracing a new wave of colors that evoke comfort, warmth, and a sense of tranquility. When it comes to the heart of the home, the kitchen, the most popular color trends are shifting away from stark whites and grays, making way for richer, more inviting hues. Let's delve into the most popular kitchen colors for 2022 and explore how they can transform your space.
Neutral yet Warm: Earth Tones
Earth tones continue to reign supreme in 2022, bringing a sense of groundedness and harmony to kitchens. These warm neutrals, such as terracotta, warm beiges, and deep browns, create a cozy atmosphere that's perfect for family gatherings and culinary adventures. Paired with natural materials like wood and stone, earth tones can help you achieve a rustic, organic aesthetic that's both timeless and on-trend.
Jewel Tones: Rich and Inviting
After years of minimalism, 2022 is all about embracing bold, luxurious colors. Jewel tones, such as emerald green, sapphire blue, and amethyst purple, are making a comeback in the kitchen, adding a touch of opulence and drama. To prevent your space from feeling overwhelming, consider using these rich hues as accent colors on cabinets, island bases, or backsplashes, and balance them with plenty of white or neutral elements.
Blue: The New Neutral
Blue has been a consistent favorite in kitchens, and in 2022, it's taking center stage as the new neutral. From soft, powdery blues to deep, moody shades, this versatile color can create a calming, soothing atmosphere. To incorporate blue into your kitchen, consider painting your cabinets a soft blue hue or using it as a backdrop for open shelving. Alternatively, opt for blue appliances or hardware for a subtle pop of color.
Green: Nature's Bounty
Inspired by the great outdoors, green is another popular color choice for kitchens in 2022. From lush, forest greens to soft, sage hues, this earthy color can bring a breath of fresh air into your space. Green is particularly well-suited to kitchens with plenty of natural light, as it can help to create a bright, airy atmosphere. To incorporate green into your kitchen, consider using it on cabinets, walls, or as an accent color in your decor.
Black: Luxurious and Modern
Black is back in a big way in 2022, adding a touch of sophistication and drama to kitchens. While it might seem like a bold choice, black can actually make a space feel larger and more luxurious. To incorporate black into your kitchen, consider using it on cabinets, countertops, or as an accent color in your hardware or appliances. To prevent your space from feeling too dark or overwhelming, balance black with plenty of white or light-colored elements.
Multicolored Cabinets: A New Twist on Tradition
In 2022, we're seeing a move away from the all-white kitchen in favor of something a little more playful. Multicolored cabinets, such as two-tone or ombré designs, are a fun and unexpected way to add personality to your space. To incorporate this trend, consider painting your upper and lower cabinets different colors or opting for a gradient effect that transitions from light to dark.
Colorful Appliances: Making a Statement
In 2022, it's all about making a statement, and colorful appliances are a bold way to do just that. From vibrant ranges to statement refrigerators, there are plenty of ways to incorporate color into your kitchen through your appliances. To pull off this look, choose appliances in complementary colors or opt for a mix-and-match approach for a more eclectic vibe.
Timeless and Trendy: The Perfect Balance
When it comes to choosing the most popular kitchen color for 2022, it's essential to strike a balance between timeless and trendy. Opt for colors that speak to your personal style and make you feel happy and comfortable in your space.
