Hip Hop, specifically Snoop Dogg in this case, is used to make a boring, everyday product feel fun, culturally relevant, and memorable. I think it's effective because not only is it a very attention grabbing video, Snoop Dogg is one of the most universally recognizable rappers, so people could recognize him almost instantly, and I'd say his influence. In addition to this, they made a parody of "drop it like it's hot" which is already a very popular and catchy song, they kept the same catchy beat and added a comedic concept to it, which I think would attract a large audience.
