I had too many thoughts
There is no such thing as too many thoughts in this meditation! Thoughts are a natural part of meditation. They are part of the natural flow of life and come into the mind spontaneously.
It's not necessary to resist thoughts or to try to push them out. You can be having lots of thoughts at the same time that you are aware of the body. Just favor the awareness of the body, not minding the thoughts.
If your mind becomes completely caught up in thoughts and you've lost awareness of the body, that's fine. Just easily bring your attention back to your body when you become aware that this has happened.
