I fell asleep in meditation. I tried to stay awake but couldn't.


It's not unusual to feel sleepy or even doze off during meditation. In the deep relaxation meditation brings, the body takes the rest it needs. Don't try to stay alert and stop yourself from falling asleep. If you fall asleep, that's just fine.


If you regularly fall asleep in meditation, it could be a signal that you need more rest during the night.
