Established March 29, 1872. Sometime prior to 1895, became Independent School District No. 8; in 1953 or 1954, was renamed Independent Consolidated School District No. 8. In 1957, became Independent School District No. 413.

Includes school board minute books; attendance registers; student record books; receipts and disbursements registers; teacher's annual reports; school censuses; audit reports; miscellaneous financial records and other administrative items; and materials relating to student activities, including scrapbooks, photographs, records of the Marshall High School Athletic Association, a high school student newsletter and newspaper, commencement programs, and high school student handbooks. The scrapbooks consist largely of newspaper clippings, but also include athletic contest programs and related items. At least two volumes pertain exclusively to sports.
