Firewood Rained On. My fire wood stack is 16' long about 16 wide and now about 3' tall. Raising the stack off the ground, rotating the logs occasionally, and covering it with a tarp when rain is predicted will maximize the wood’s lifespan.

While occasional light rain will not necessarily ruin firewood or inhibit its ignition capabilities, steps should be taken to protect the woodpile. Seasoned firewood should be stored out of the rain to help prolong how well it keeps for.
