PIA (Personal Intelligence App), beta

The short version: PIA uses your information only to help you reach your goals. No ads, no trackers, no selling of data. Health data and photos are used only with your permission, and you can see, export or delete everything.

Who is responsible

PIA is the data fiduciary (controller) for your information. Contact and grievance officer: shivamkole007@gmail.com. We reply within 7 days and resolve grievances within 30 days. Legal name and postal address to be added before public launch.

What we collect, and why

Onboarding answers: name, year of birth, country, routine, goals, coaching style, busy hoursTo build your plan, respect your busy and quiet hours, and apply the right legal rules for your age and country
Goals, tasks, check-ins, mood, notes you tell PIATo plan, remind you at good times, and show progress
Health and activity data you allow (steps, distance, workouts, sleep, heart rate, HRV, blood pressure, oxygen, breathing rate, weight, water, body temperature, stress estimate)Dashboards, your goal plans (for example the runs in a race plan) and the stress estimate. Raw readings stay on your phone; only daily summaries are sent. Never used for ads.
Health episodes, medicines and prescriptions you add (only with "Health records" on)To care for you while you're unwell, adjust your goals, and remind you about medicines as your doctor prescribed. A prescription photo is read by our AI provider (paid plans) and deleted straight after; you confirm what it read. PIA never suggests medicines or doses.
Meal photos (paid plans)To estimate food and calories. The photo is deleted after analysis; a small thumbnail is kept only if you turn on "Keep meal photos".
Things ahead you mention (an interview, an exam, a wedding), and "Your story": a short diary of each day you talk to PIA and a chapter for each monthSo PIA can wish you luck before a big day, ask how it went afterwards, and remember your days and months. You can read, edit or delete every line in the app.
Learn: the goals you learn for, videos you open or mark as learned, quiz scores, and questions you ask about a videoTo pick videos for your goals at your level and answer your questions. The videos are public YouTube videos (see "YouTube" below).
Conversations with PIA (text, and voice if you use it)To answer you. Voice is turned into text on your phone; with "Clearer listening" on, a short recording is sent for transcription and not stored.
Technical data: app version, crash reports, request logsTo keep the service working and secure. Crash reports exclude personal details; logs use hashed identifiers.

Legal basis and consent

We process personal data on the basis of your consent, given per purpose in the app (AI processing, health data, health records, photos, notifications, cloud voice). You can withdraw any consent at any time in Settings → Privacy, as easily as you gave it. Some features stop working without the matching consent.

AI processing

When AI processing is on, the text needed to answer you (your message, your first name, and relevant goals, routine, memories or facts) is sent to our AI providers. Paid plans use Anthropic. The Free plan may use Google Cloud Vertex AI (Gemini), with Anthropic as a backup when Gemini cannot answer. Neither provider may use it to train AI models, and they keep it only briefly for safety monitoring. AI answers are labelled and are not medical advice. To answer questions about a Learn video, Google's Gemini watches the public YouTube video once and writes notes about it; nothing about you is sent with the video, and those notes are kept for at most 30 days.

YouTube

Learn uses YouTube API Services to find videos for your goals and plays them in YouTube's own player. By using Learn you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy. PIA does not sign in to or read your YouTube account. Video details from YouTube (titles, channels, lengths) are kept for at most 30 days; what you learned stays in your account until you delete it.

How long we keep it

For as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your data is erased within 7 days and removed from backups within 30 days.

Your rights

You can see and correct what PIA knows (Settings → What PIA knows), export your data (JSON and CSV), withdraw consents, and delete your account in the app or on the delete account page. You can also complain to the Data Protection Board of India, or your local data protection authority.

Children

During the beta, PIA is for people aged 18 and over. Family mode for younger users is off until it has passed legal review.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, access is limited by row-level security so each account can only read its own data, and secrets are kept in a managed secret store.

Changes

We'll tell you in the app before any change that affects how your data is used.
