Plant Doctor ("the App") is developed and operated by Sandeep Mysore. There are no accounts. This policy explains what happens to your photos, messages and data.
These are saved in the App’s private storage on your phone. We have no copy of them.
When you add a plant or take a check-up photo, the App sends that photo (and, for a check-up, a small copy of the previous photo) to the Plant Doctor server, hosted on Google Cloud. The server sends it to Google’s Gemini API to identify the plant and assess its health, returns the result, and does not store the photos.
When you message a plant, the App sends your message, recent messages in that chat, and the plant’s details (species, personality, health and watering schedule) to the server, which asks Google’s Gemini API for the plant’s reply. Nothing is stored after the reply is sent back. Google processes this under the Gemini API Additional Terms and the Google Privacy Policy. Please don’t share personal information in chats.
Replies, identifications and diagnoses are generated by AI and can be wrong. Plants are not vets or doctors.
If you report a message or diagnosis, the reason you chose, any note you add, the reported content and up to six recent messages from that chat are sent to our server logs so we can review it. Reports contain no photos and are kept for up to 30 days.
The App asks for camera access only when you take a photo, uses your photo library only to let you pick a photo or save a share card, and uses notifications only for the reminders you turn on. Reminders are scheduled on your device.
The App creates a random ID on first launch and sends it with requests so the server can apply fair daily limits. It isn’t linked to your identity and the server forgets it within a day.
Free users can choose to watch a short ad from Google AdMob for more messages. Ads are never shown unless you choose to watch one, and never after you buy Plant Doctor Unlimited. To serve and measure ads, Google’s Mobile Ads SDK may collect:
This data is collected and processed by Google under Google’s Privacy Policy. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services. Your photos, plants and chats are never shared with advertisers.
Plant Doctor Unlimited is sold through the Apple App Store or Google Play. They handle payment; we never see your card or account details.
Plant Doctor is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Delete a plant from its profile, use Settings › Delete all my data, or uninstall the App. See Delete data.
