Defected SPLA-IO general captures Moroto unified force training center, repulsed

“This is the JBD emergency meeting, it was precisely summoned urgently following the outbreak of some indiscipline commands in the area of Muroto, Kirwa and the whole Kajo-Keji county” Said the Co-chair of the JDB and the Chief of Defense Forces, Gen. Johnson Juma Okot.

Confirming the attack from Kajo-Keji, a senior SPLA-IO officer said Gen. Lokujo forces captured and burned down Moroto Unified Training centers.

“Following his humiliating defeat at Andezo and Kirwa upon attacking SPLA (IO) forces in the area some days ago, Moses Lokujo Gabriel, aided by some SSPDF contingent in the area, attacked, overran and burnt down Moruta aka Moroto/Morta Unified Training Centre (MUTC), hence displacing the thousands SPLA (IO) forces still undergoing training at the centre” Said the SPLA-IO s

According to SPLA-IO sources, the SPLA-IO forces managed to reorganized and repulsed the attack.

“Although Moses Lokujo’s latest attack on Moruta Unified Training Centre (MUTC) somehow caught the SPLA (IO) trainees there by surprise, the SPLA (IO) forces, nevertheless, soon reorganised, repulsed Moses Lokujo’s aggression and subsequently regained full and complete control of the MUTC.” The SPLA-IO sources said.

The SPLA-IO officer claimed that Gen. Lokujo’s side lost 17 men in fighting and suffered many injuries but SPLA-IO side suffered four minor injuries, a report Nyamilepedia could not verify at the time of this writing.

“In the attack by Moses Lokujo on Moruta aka Moroto/Morta Unified Training Centre (MUTC) yesterday, Lokujo lost 17 men with many injured, while atleast 4 SPLA (IO) peace soldiers sustained minor injuries with no casualties.” The SPLA-IO claimed.

Maj. Gen. Moses Lokujo Gabriel was the Commander of the SPLA-IO Division 2B Section A Command until September 21, 2020. 

Lokujo defected and declared his allegiance to President Kiir claiming that he was defecting with 1991 forces.

Attempts to reach Gen. Lokujo’s side were not returned at the time of this writing.
