CES Governor meets President Kiir to discuss Christmas and formation of the local governments
Nov 24, 2020(Nyamilepedia) — The Central Equatoria State governor, Hon. Emmanuel Adil Anthony, has paid president Salva Kiir a courtesy call in his office on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 to discuss how to maintain peace and security in Juba and elsewhere in Central Equatoria state.
Speaking to the media shortly after meeting president Kiir, Governor Emmanuel Adil called on the public to maintain calm during the festive season.
According to a statement shared by the office of the president, the Governor briefed H.E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit on the preparedness of the Central Equatoria state Government for the festive season.
“In his remarks to the media after the meeting, Hon. Emmanuel Adil Anthony called upon the general public to cooperate with the Security to maintain calm and stability during this festive season,” the statement read.
According to Governor Emmanuel Adil , the two leaders also discussed the implementation of the Revitalised Peace Agreement.
He further said that H.E President Salva Kiir Mayardit assured him that the State governments will be fully formed soon.
Although the region is in bigger crises with the peace guarantors that include Ethiopia, Sudan and Uganda managing their own internal security crises, President Salva Kiir is yet to put his words into action on peace implementation.
While the local governments are yet to be formed, the training of the unified forces could be delayed for a few more months as the government now demands that commanders have to be trained first to command the unified forces.
