Brig. Gen. Louis Idenge further confirmed that the two drivers survived with injured alongside 13 passengers that were also injured.

The 15 people, which include eight women some of whom sustained broken bones, are all hospital at the Nimule civil hospital.

“Out of the 15 casualties, 8 are women and 4 of them sustained broken bones and are in bad condition. The reason for the accident is that both of them were over speeding.” Brig. Gen. Idenge said.

Separately, the incident was confirmed by a police captain Juma George, the Director of Traffic in Nimule Town Council, when he spoke to local radio station from Nimule.

The police department calls on drivers to drive slowly although they may have a lot of festive season demands to meet.

“As you travel during this Christmas you have to move slowly because some of these drivers are in a hurry so that they get passengers who came from Kampala in Nimule. Even passengers should advise your drivers to drive slowly,” Juma cautioned.
