WAU – South Sudan artist Larson Angok who has composed a song considered as anti-SPLM by the government has been arrested by a group of suspected National Security Service (NSS) agents, according to Eye Witnesses.

One eye witness who spoke to Sudans Post from Western Bahr el Ghazal state capital Wau said on condition of anonymity that Larson was arrested at noon at a tea shop at Suk Hajar by men in NSS uniform.

“Yesterday, we were sitting at a tea place at Suk Hajar with Larson. Suddenly, a car without number plate came and called him outside. As soon as he exited the shop, he was thrown in the car,” the eyewitness said.

He added that one of the people who was sitting inside the tea shop made a suspicious phone call which he said led to the arrest.

“Someone minutes before Larson’s arrest went out and made a phone call and then came back. He the. Left to call again and came back for the second time. When the NSS took away Larson, he then left with the car caring Larson,” he said.

The arrest comes a week after Larson said he was being threatened by NSS for a song that he composed last year criticizing the SPLM, saying he was at one point threatened to be assassinated.

The song, “SPLM Amuk Miith Koc Kok” which literally means ‘SPLM is feeding other people’s children’ accuses the SPLM of neglecting the SPLA child soldiers.
