JUBA, JUNE 12, 2023 ( SUDANS POST) — The leader of the leader of the breakaway South Sudan United Front (SSUF/A) Nairobi Declaration faction Dickson Gatluak Jock has arrived in Juba, saying they have chosen peace over war.

Gatluak said in a statement yesterday that he will lead a high-level delegation to Juba for a confidence-building tour in which he is also expected to meet senior government officials and members of the ruling SPLM party.

In a statement, Philip Deng Kuol, the military spokesman of the group said they arrived in Juba at around 9 AM and were warmly welcomed by senior government officials in the airport.

“The SSUF/A-ND high-level delegation led by the Chairman Gen. Dickson Gatluak Jock Nyuot has this morning touched down at Juba International Airport at 9am Juba local time,” he said.

“We applaud the warmly reception by the tasked government dignitaries during our arrival,” he added.

He said that “Since the dismissal of Gen. Malong from the SSUF/A chairmanship, the entire leadership of the SSUF/A-ND is now ready to choose a pen more than the military use.”
