Ethiopia has accused the international community of undermining its sovereignty saying most criminal activities allegedly committed by the rebellious Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) have gone without condemnation from the international community, while the Ethiopian government has remained under international criticism.
In a tweet, Amb. Andargachew expressed a strong disapproval of the international community silence on ‘terror’ attacks which he said have been launched by the TPLF against several areas including the UNESCO World Heritage Site Lalibela which was allegedly recaptured by the TPLF.
Lalibela has been under the government control for just only eleven days.
“When Lalibela, a world heritage, was under attack by Terrorist TPLF, UNESCO missed the opportunity to condemn; in addition to this unfortunate situation,” the former minister said.
“WHO also was silent when 1000-plus of health facilities were destroyed, the EU prefers to exert unnecessary pressure on Ethiopia,” the diplomat added.
He urged the international community to avoid intervention in the Ethiopian conflict by anyway so that they become a solution rather than being a problem in the one-year-old conflict.
“It is high time to get hands-off Ethiopia and the international partners to be part of the solution instead of becoming part of the problems!” he said.
