JUBA — South Sudanese social media evangelist Marco Deng who interviewed South Sudanese refugee children assaulted by racists in the Cairo neighborhood of Ain Shams has been summoned by a prosecutor, sources close to him told Sudans Post this evening.

This is after the victims denied before the prosecutor that they were raped, in contrary to what they had stated during an interview with Evangelist Marko.

“Rev.  Marko has been has been summoned by the prosecutor office and what we heart is that the victims denied before the prosecutor what they said in the video that they were raped and the pastor is summoned because of that,” the source said.

Last week, a group of three refugee children from South Sudan were detained against their will at an apartment by Egyptian men and a woman and were forced to work while racially bullying them.

The Egyptian authorities were able to arrest the criminals and the prosecutor has ordered 4-day pre-trial detention pending investigation.
