JUBA, JUNE 14, 2023 (SUDANS POST) – The former spokesman of South Sudan People’s Movement/Army (SSPM/A) led by General Stephen Buay Rolnyang has declared his intention to join Vice-President Taban Deng Gai.

Peter Malieth Malek made the declaration in a statement extended to Sudans Post on Tuesday and said his decision to join the vice-president who is a member of the ruling Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) is effective immediately.

“It’s with tremendous privilege to confirm my allegiance to you, Your Excellency as of today 13th /June/ 2023. Your Excellency, I have wholeheartedly decided to work with you and support you at all costs now and into the future,” he said in the statement addressed to VP Taban.

“However, this implication was drawn on personal opinion minus being influenced by the outside force or individual. Your Excellency sir, I am proactive and fast learner who believes in teamwork spirit and commitment regardless of the circumstances,” he added.

Malek was appointed as the information secretary and official spokesman of SSPM/A until when he resigned in October 2021.

He said at the time that his resignation from the rebel movement was due to personal commitments.
