Ex-Unity state lawmaker passes on in Khartoum

A former Member of Parliament of South Sudan's Unity state has passed on in the Sudanese capital Khartoum, Unity state finance minister and chairman of Jagei Community Malual Tap Dieu has said in a statement.

JUBA – A former Member of Parliament of South Sudan’s Unity state has passed on in the Sudanese capital Khartoum, Unity state finance minister and chairman of Jagei Community Malual Tap Dieu has said in a statement.

In the statement, Malual said the former lawmaker passed away at a hospital in Khartoum while surrounded by senior community and government officials on September 12, 2021.

“Death has just robbed us another imminent member Hon. Ustaz. Fuad Mut Ngoang former Member of Parliament in Unity State. The Jagei Community Association (JCA) in the Republic of South Sudan has received the sad news with sorrow and dismay the passing on of this dignified elder yesterday the 12th of September 2021 in Khartoum, Sudan,” Malual said in the statement.

“On behalf of JCA and on my own behalf, I commiserate with the Ustaz’s Family members, loved ones, Jagei Community and the people of Unity State. Ustaz Fuad has been instrumental in shaping the education system of Unity State since the old days of Liberation up to independence. He is also one of the few members who took it upon themselves to form Jagei Community Association in Sudan in 1960s,” he added.

He further said that the “Jagei Community and the entire people of Unity State has a lost a great teacher at this critical time whose knowledge should be used to transform the education system of our Country. As it is nailed down in the Holy Book; Roman 14:8 If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord.”

“So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. May Almighty God give us strength and Courage as we mourn the passing on of our elder and may His Holy Blessings be shower on each of us in this trying moment.”
