Gatwech fires press secretary, names replacement

The leader of the breakaway Sudan People’s Liberation Movement/Army in Opposition (SPLM/SPLA-IO) General Simon Gatwech Dual on Tuesday dismissed his press secretary Tito Khan and named a replacement, according to orders extended to Sudans Post.

JUBA – The leader of the breakaway Sudan People’s Liberation Movement/Army in Opposition (SPLM/SPLA-IO) General Simon Gatwech Dual on Tuesday dismissed his press secretary Tito Khan and named a replacement, according to orders extended to Sudans Post.

The order for Khan’s dismissal did not cite reasons as to why the official who has been the press secretary for the opposition leader since resignation of his predecessor, Kalany Mamuon who has turned farmer, from the position.

In another order also extended to Sudans Post, Gatwech named Lt. Col. Nyang Gony Gai as the new press secretary in the office of the SPLM/SPLA-IO Kitgwang chairperson and commander -in-chief with effect from August 30 2022.

“Reference to the Resolutions of SPLM/A 10 Kitgwang three days’ leadership Consultative Conference dated 18 July 2022, and based on the Structural Document of the SPLM/A IO, I, Gen. Simon Gatwech Dual, the Interim Chairman and Commander In Chief of SPLM/A IO Kitgwang do hereby appoint Lt. Col. Nyang Gony Gai to the position of Press Secretary in the office of Interim Chairman and Commander in Chief of SPLM/A 10 Kitgwang, effective from 30 August, 2022,” Gatwech wrote.
