KHARTOUM – The meeting between General Simon Gatwech Dual and his group’s head of political wing, Hendry Odwar Dilah, has ended successfully with understanding between the two men, a spokesman allied to Gatwech told Sudans Post.

Odwar arrived in the Sudanese capital Khartoum last week to take a part in a consultative political meeting ordered by Gatwech, the leader of the breakaway SPLM-IO Kitgwang faction, to discuss political matters of the group.

Speaking to Sudans Post this morning, Col. Alfred Gach Thot, the military spokesman of the SPLA-IO Kitgwang and close ally of Gen. Gatwech Dual, said the meeting between Gatwech and Odwar ended with understanding and that Odwar will return to Canada, but would be back soon for further deliberation.

“The meeting between the Chairman and Commander in Chief Gen. Simon Gatwech Dual has ended successfully and Hon, Odwar, the Chairman of the Political Bureau, will return to Canada,” he said from the Sudanese capital Khartoum.

“He will return in a few weeks to come and continue some of the important discussions with the chairman because it is very important in the search for permanent peace in South Sudan because our people have suffered,” he added.
