General Cirilo’s deputy chief of staff and operation commander, forces abandon NAS

JUBA – The deputy chief of staff of National Salvation Front (NAS) for administration and his forces have resigned from the holdout opposition group telling General Thomas Cirilo in a statement extended to Sudans Post that is severing ties with him.

General Saki James who has been a member of the holdout armed opposition group and the group’s operation commander in Western Equatoria state did not however mention why he was leaving the movement.

However, some of his colleagues have in recent months grown critical against General Cirilo’s leadership with many of them defection either to teh government or fleeing to form own movement.

“This letter is intended to serve as my official resignation from NAS. I served in the leadership of NAS from 12/09/2017 diligently till to date and hence forth I am cutting ties from NAS with all my forces of Western Equatorial Command,” General Saki said in the statement.

He further added: “I wish NAS and its leadership a good journey in the struggle.”
