General Santino Deng Wol restructures army command

General Wol was appointed last Saturday by President Salva Kiir Mayardit to replace General Johnson Juma Okot who was removed and moved to foreign service as South Sudan's ambassador to Belgium.

JUBA – South Sudan’s newly appointed army chief General Santino Deng Wol has restructured the South Sudan People’s Defense Forces (SSPDF) command, according to an order seen by Sudans Post.

General Wol was appointed last Saturday by President Salva Kiir Mayardit to replace General Johnson Juma Okot who was removed and moved to foreign service as South Sudan’s ambassador to Belgium.

Kiir also removed the long-time Director-General of South Sudan’s National Security General Intelligence Bureau General Thomas Duoth Guet who has now been appointed as South Sudan Ambassador to the state of Kuwait.

He was replaced – according to a decree issue through the state-owned South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation (SSBC) by General Simon Yien Makuac who once served as the commander of the SSPDF’s Sixth Infantry Division.

According to the order seen by Sudans Post, Lieutenant General Thoi Change will serve as the Deputy Chief of Defense Forces, Lieutenant General Dor Manjur Gatluak as Inspector General of the Army.

Lieutenant General  Ring Tueny as director of Military Intelligence, Lieutenant General  James Koang Chuol Ranley as Assiatant Chief of Defense Forces for Training, Lieutenant General  Malual Majok as Assistant Chief of Defense Forces for Administration and Finance, Lieutenant General  Butrus Bol Bol as Assistant Chief of Defense Forces for Operation.

Lieutenant General Stephen Marshal as Assistant Chief of Defense Forces for Ground Forces, Lieutenant General Ernest Dut Wol as Assistant Chief of Defense Forces for Logistics

Lieutenant General Thayeb Gatluak who was promoted from the rank of Major General will serve as the Assistant Chief of Defense Forces for Air Forces, Lieutenant General Thiik Achiek will serve as Assistant Chief of Defense Forces for Moral Orientation, and Finally Lieutenant General  Rubi Majuong will serve as Assistant Chief of Defense Forces for Riverine.
