Lobong said calm has returned to the border town of Nimule after deploying security forces.
Lobong who temporarily transferred his Office operations to Nimule said traffic flow into and out of the country has been restored and that shops reopened and movement in the town has resumed.
“I call upon all the communities residing in Nimule to refrain from causing chaos in the area,” Lobong said in a statement seen by Sudans Post on Wednesday.
Governor Lobong stressed the need for peace and harmony in a bid to allow people to go about their daily activities without interruptions.
“I have been briefed by security apparatuses on the general security situation in Nimule, they told me that the investigations to hold perpetrators of the violence accountable are underway,” he said.
The Governor has further directed all security agencies based in Nimule to cooperate and jointly address the security challenges affecting the resident in Nimule town.
“All of you in these different uniforms are all here because of the express duty of providing protection to the people and safeguarding the Highway,” he said.
The Governor who met with Madi community and Dinka Bor Community leaders on Tuesday urged them to refrain from conflict.
The killings of chief and other two civilians’ sparked protest by the area youth, temporarily disrupting traffic flow into and out of the country for a better half of the Monday.
