JUBA – South Sudan government is planning a forced vaccination against public and private employees, according to Vice-President Hussein Abdel Baggi.

Hussein who is also the head of the national coronavirus task-force told the SSBC following a meeting with President Salva Kiir Mayardit that public and private employees won’t be allowed to enter work place until they are vaccinated.

“If everybody doesn’t want to get vaccinated, we will not allow them to enter government offices without the certificate of vaccination,” the Vice President following the meeting Kiir on Monday.

This comes days after the government was forced to donate expiring 72,000 COVID-19 vaccine to Kenya as people were reluctant to get vaccinated.

Hussein said he told President Kiir during  the State House meeting that “every staff at the public institutions must get vaccinated.”

“Even in the private like hotels, the staff working there must get vaccinated. We will tighten these procedures and nobody will be allowed to enter a public place and hotels without a certificate,” he said.
