The civil rights advocacy group which was established in early August has since launched a public campaign to demand political change after 10 turbulent and often bloody years of independence.
One of the leaders of the group, former governor of Northern Bahr el Ghazal state, Kuel Aguer Kuel, was arrested by the National Security Service (NSS) in the capital Juba for signing the campaign’s declaration and the rest are on the run.
Last week, the PCCA informed Paul Mayom Akec, minister of interior, that South Sudanese will take to the streets later this month to demand end to President Salva Kiir Mayardit’s government, urging the minister to provide protection as required by the country’s interim constitution.
However, General Justin said the request has been rejected by the police authorities warning the public not to take part in the demonstration claiming that the organization has not been registered as an entity by the government and thereby rendering it illegal.
“The request was written in a very dangerous manner. The level of risk is really high because they are calling for nationwide demonstrations,” Major-General Daniel Justin is quoted by the Juba-based Talk of Juba as saying.
“We advise them [demonstrators] not to do so. If they want to exercise their right to free expression, they must work with us as organized forces to ensure that their demonstration is safe,” he added.
General Justin further claimed the organisation did not guarantee in their letter to the ministry of interior that their protests would not turn violent saying the government also want the protesters to disclose how many people are taking part in the protest.
“It’s time for us to sit down and straighten things out. You can’t call a demonstration for an undetermined number of people because we need to know the exact number of demonstrators,” he said.
Country with no army everyday soldiers are deserting their camp because of no salary ,only after six months the are give 1300. Let them protest for good governance but should be peaceful.
The so called PCCA is not care about the live of our people of south Sudan who are here in the country simply because most of them are in the Diaspora, we need them to come and take the lead than rubbish and nonsense.
Cde Meen Gabriel Chol Kuac,
Thank you Mr. Chol Kuac,
Most of them have never smell the stench of gunpowder all their lives, but they cannot be discounted by the government of South Sudan and the South Sudanese people. However, they are warned to play it save. ‘Wrong + wrong # (is) equal right’, our elders have let our guards down. What is the People’s Coalition for Civil Action (PCCA aim, manifesto and their replacement of ‘the status quo?’. Nothing, just bunch of low losers. Our country and our people are coveted by the most evils on this planet earth. There are a lot of problems, Somalia, Tigrany, North Sudan, Northern Nigeria, Democratic republic of Congo (D.R.C), Chad and Darfur. But South Sudan problems are the most love by our enemies.
This is precisely true, we are the ones who are going to destroy so-called *Western civilization* We have told our fools a hundred of times. That Roman Catholics, Anglicans, Presbyterians, Lutherans, Vodoos, Jews, Muslims, Bantuses, Shamans, Hindus et al, are not our equals. Not even in the slightest, but our fools think, live over the backs of our country and our people is a good idea.
Where is Mr. Pope Francis (a former scrounger from Argentina)? He even ‘invited our low lives, Mr. Salva Kiir Mayardit and his his arch rival, Mr. Riek Machar to Roman, and went and knelt down on them. As if he were some kind of a god’.
Mr. Salvadore [Salva] Kiir Mayardit is a staunch Catholic, so does Mr. Riek Machar, he is was a Muslim. Romans have never ever colonized our county and our people. Libya, Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco were once colonized by *Romans*. They used to bring their evil long noses into ‘Upper Nile, Valley of Kings and [Upper Egypt]’. They were always killed. People who almost colonized our country and our people, were *the Ottomans (Today’s Turkey)*. Kiirtoum (El Khartoum), where the two Rivers (white Nile and Blue Nile) meet, is just a Muonyjiengs/Jaangs/Jenges/Dinkas country, two ‘villages meets ‘Kiirtoum ‘wen dhur man (Omdurman) ,’a baby crying for hisher mother’ and Kiirtoum (Khartoum—Khartoum Ju-a, the Middle of our Kiirtoum (Khartoum), where our might Nile joins again and moves to our Egypt.
Follow us fellow us, if you really think, you can.>>>>
