JUBA – The South Sudan Football Association (SSFA) has declared Jamus FC the champions of the 13th South Sudan Cup following a chaotic final match against El-Merriekh FC Bentiu.

El-Merriekh FC has been named runners-up and will forfeit its share of tournament income.

The decision was made after a meeting of the SSFA’s organizing committee, which reviewed reports from match officials and security personnel.

The final match, held Sunday at Buluk Training Center, was abandoned during a penalty shootout after fans stormed the pitch, leading to police intervention.

The match had ended in a 1-1 draw after regulation time. El-Merriekh FC has been warned to advise its fans against repeating such disruptive behavior.
