Joint Defense Board orders graduation of Necessary Unified Forces

JUBA – The South Sudan Joint Defense Board (JDB) has ordered the graduation of the Necessary Unified Forces (NUF) which is being trained in different training areas in the country, the Ministry of Defense Announced today.

Col. Lam Paul Gabriel, the deputy SPLA-IO spokesman and the Press Secretary at the Ministry of Defense said in a statement that the decision by the JDB was reached today during a meeting at Bilpam.

“The JDB today 06/05/2020, in its 12th ordinary meeting, resolves to graduate the Necessary Unified Forces (NUF) currently in the training centers, within the period of one month beginning tomorrow the 7/05/2020,” Lam said in the statement seen by Sudans Post.

He said that “instructors are directed to prepare these forces for graduation as soon as possible.”

“NTC will be requested to preposition emergency food to the training centers and also the cantonment sites. Forces in the centers are directed to continue to maintain social distancing to support the fight against the COVID-19.”
