“Prime Minister H.E. Dr. Abiy Ahmed and high-level Ethiopian government officials have warmly received H.E. Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta, President of the Republic of Kenya upon his arrival at Bole International Airport today (June 08),” the Ethiopian foreign ministry said in a statement.
“The President has been accompanied by investors and high-level Kenyan politicians. During his stay in Ethiopia, President Uhuru Kenyatta will hold discussions with Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed on bilateral and regional issues of common concern,” it added.
The latest visit by the Kenyan president comes two weeks before the Horn of Africa country heads to election that has been described by some analyst as a concrete step in consolidating peace in the East African country.
