JUBA – South Sudan President Salva Kiir Mayardit has issued a republican order reintegrating former rebel forces of Malual Gahoth Declaration under the leadership of General Khor Chuol Giet into South Sudan People’s Defense Forces (SSPDF), according to a statement extended to Sudans Post.

Gen. Khor, who defected from the main armed opposition Sudan People’s Liberation Movement in Opposition (SPLM-IO) led by First Vice President Dr. Riek Machar Teny, said his forces were integrated into South Sudan People’s Defense Forces on 7 February 2022.

“On February 7, 2022 His Excellency General Salva Kiir Mayardit, the President of the Republic of South Sudan and Commander in Chief of the South Sudan People’s Defence Force and other Organized Forces issued a Presidential Decree reintegrating the “Malual Gahoth and Pagak Integrated Forces” back to the SSPDF and other Organized Forces,” Gen. Khor said.

General Khor Chuol thanked President Kiir for the expeditious reintegration and also congratulated the thousands of men who were reintegrated into the South Sudan People’s Defense Forces and urged them to be loyal to the country to defend the constitution of the country.

“As the Commander of the SSPDF Malual Gahoth and Pagak Integrated Forces I would like to express my appreciation to His Excellency the President of the Republic for this historic reintegration of these forces back into the SSPDF and other Organized Forces,” the statement said.

“I would like to congratulate all the men and women in uniforms who were given this task of protecting the territorial integrity of the Republic of South Sudan and her Constitution,” the statement added.

“The remaining forces who just arrived in Malual Gahoth, Guelguk, Mathiang, Matar and other parts of Greater Jikany Nuer of Longechuk, Maiwut, Nasir and Ulang Counties will be integrated as soon as possible by His Excellency the President of the Republic and Commander in Chief of SSPDF and all the other Organized Forces,” the statement further concluded.
