Kiir praises Gen. Rin Tueny for ‘improving security’ in Lakes state

President Salva Kiir Mayardit has praised Governor Gen. Rin Tueny Mabor for improving the security situation in South Sudan’s restive Lakes state.

JUBA — President Salva Kiir Mayardit has praised Governor Gen. Rin Tueny Mabor for improving the security situation in South Sudan’s restive Lakes state.

This comes during a meeting between the South Sudanese head of state and Gen. Mabor who arrived from Rumbek to Juba this week, according to a statement by the presidency.

“His Excellency Salva Kiir Mayardit, President of the Republic met in his Office this morning (Thursday, 10th February 2022), with Hon. Rin Tueny Mabor, the Governor of Lakes State who briefed him on the general security situation in his State,” the presidency statement said.

According to the brief statement posted on Facebook by the presidency, Kiir praised the Lakes state governor and assured him of his government’s continued support to address the insecurity there.

“During the meeting, H.E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit commended Hon. Governor Rin Tueny Mabor for improving the security in Lakes State and assured him of his continuous support,” the statement said.

The meeting between the president and General Rin Tueny was attended by the executive director on the office of the president James Deng Wal, the statement added.
