JUBA – President Salva Kiir Mayardit on Friday night issued a number of republican decrees revoking the appointment of the deputy governor of Upper Nile state and the chief administrator of Ruweng Administrative Area.

This is according to the state-own South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation (SSBC.

In the first decree, the South Sudanese president dismissed Dap Tap Chuol who was appointed last month – and has not been sworn into office – as the deputy governor of Upper Nile state to replace Tor Muonybuny.

In a separate decree, Kiir appointed Ayong Awer Lual of the ruling Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) party as the new deputy governor of the oil-rich northern-most state.

Kiir in a separate decree revoked the appointment of Tiop Monyluak as the chief administrator of Ruweng Administrative Area and appointed his nephew Wieu Mialek.

Tiop was appointed by the president as chief administrator of Ruweng on May 20 and was never sworn into office.
