JUBA – South Sudan’s senior presidential advisor and former defense minister Kuol Manyang Juuk is saying that he has not been allowed to meet President Salva Kiir Mayardit for several months by presidential security advisor Tutkew Gatluak.

Speaking in an interview due to be aired on Friday night by Juba-based journalist Mathiang Cirilo, Manyang said he is not in good terms with Tutkew saying he wonders why he was appointed ‘senior’ presidential advisor.

“I was appointed by President Salva as ‘senior presidential advisor’ which means I am the head of the advisors. But I am not being allowed to even meet Kiir by Tutkew and this is for several months now,” Kuol said.

Asked how could he describe his relationship with Tutkew, Manyang said he is not in good terms with him and has accused unnamed members of National Congress Party of Sudan of taking over the presidency.

“Look, my relationship doesn’t exist with Tutkew. Some people within the NCP have taken over our country and the presidency,” he said.

The senior member of the SPLM further reiterated accusations he made last week that the government has failed to deliver services and killing citizens saying ‘we haven’t don’t anything to make a better society following independence.”
