JUBA – South Sudan’s newly-appointed state government officials of the country’s Lakes state will be sworn into office today, according to a state official.

This came weeks after President Salva Kiir reconstituted state governments of Lakes State. Among the appointees are 5 advisors, 17 ministers, 7 county commissioners and 30 officials to the state Independent Commissions.

“The Governor of Lakes State, Makur Kulang Liei will travel to Rumbek tomorrow morning where he will preside over the inaugural ceremony of the newly appointed state government,” said Mayoor Mou, Press Secretary in the office of Lakes state governor.

Mayoor said that governor Makur will go straight to the State’s secretariat after the arrival to administer the swearing ceremony.

“Governor Makur will disperse county commissioners to their respective counties  after the swearing in ceremony,” Mou said in a statement extended to Sudans Post.

“The office of the governor would like to inform all relevant institutions to prepare for tomorrow’s occasion which will commence as soon as the governor arrives in morning hours,” he added.

The appointees are representatives of the main SPLM party (ITGONU) South Sudan Opposition Alliance, SPLM-IO, Other Political Parties, and the National Agenda, a partner to the former Interim Transitional Government of National Unity.
