JUBA – A member of South Sudan’s Reconstituted Transitional National Legislative Assembly (R-TNLA) has suddenly died in the country’s capital Juba, according to the first deputy speaker of parliament Nathaniel Oyet.

Honorable Michael Aremba who was representing one of the constituencies in Western Equatoria state in the transitional parliament died on Saturday after complaining of headache a day after he was rushed to local hospital Juba.

“On a very sad note, I want to report to you about the untimely death of one of our members from the WES, Hon. Michael Aremba,” Oyet who is also the deputy chair of the main armed opposition Sudan People’s Liberation Movement in Opposition (SPLM-IO) told lawmakers today.

“He woke up and because the hospital is not far away from his home, he decided to walk [home] to go and brush his teeth. That is where he collapsed and died,” the top member of parliament further narrated.
