Light earthquake hits parts of Juba – residents

JUBA – Residents of South Sudan’s capital Juba are saying that there was light earthquake just after midnight on Monday.

According to residents, the earthquake occurred in areas of Juba one, Rock City, Jebel and part of Tongping.

“There was earthquake today night. It was almost two when I woke up to the ground shake and I also woke up my children exactly at 1:45 am this morning,” one resident of the capital’s Rock city told Sudans Post moments ago.

There are no immediate reports of damage or injuries, though the shaking was felt widely in the city.

Another resident in Tongping he also felt there was earthquake.

“There was ground shaking here in the early hours of today but it was calm in a few minutes,” the resident said.
