Local radio station in Bentiu donates face masks to students, women to boost COVID-19 fight

BENTIU – A local radio at UN civilian protection site in South Sudan’s Unity state has donated face masks to students and women groups there in a way that also help in the fight against novel coronavirus.

Several students from Unity Primary School at the POC and women who spoke to Sudans Post this morning said the donation was made by Kondial FM 97.2 radio state on Wednesday.

“Yesterday, Kondial FM 97.2 radio station donated face masks to us to help us protected from COVID-19. We are happy with the station and we also encourage others to practice social distancing measures to help them protected against coronavirus,” one student said from Bentiu.

Another elderly women confirmed to Sudans Post the donation of face masks, and said she is one of those who benefited from the local radio station’s help.

“I am one of them and I am very happy about that,” she added, while expressing concerns over the lack of practice of coronavirus measures as recommended by World Health organization.

Another aid worker confirmed to Sudans Post that the women who were given face mask by the local radio are those age groups ranging from 37 to 60.
