JUBA – South Sudan’s First Vice President Dr. Riek Machar Teny has met with a delegation of the Jagei Community Association (JCA) led by its chairman Malual Tap Diu in Juba on Tuesday and discussed the ongoing flooding situation in which most population of Koch County has been displaced.

In a statement following the meeting with Machar, Malual who is also the Unity State Minister of Finance, said the meeting with the First Vice President focused on the humanitarian situation in the area.

“The leadership of Jagei community association in the Republic of South Sudan met with the FVP H.E Dr. Riek Machar at his office in Juba,” Malual said in the statement seen by Sudans Post.

“… in a discussion that was largely dominated by the issue of flood that has inflicted untold suffering onto our people, the FVP assured the leadership of Jagei community that the country’s leadership is fully informed about this natural calamity that is terrorizing our people and has already taken a crucial step by inviting all the humanitarian agencies to help alleviate the suffering of the people of South Sudan in the mostly affected areas and more specifically Koch area of Jagei community,” he said.

He further added that “the meeting also presents us with an opportunity to thank H.E for the peace implementation and urged him to exert more effort for the speedy implementation of the remaining parts of the R.ARCSS.”
