Malong says unity necessary for peaceful country as nation marks Easter

JUBA, APRIL 9, 2023 (SUDANS POST) – South Sudan opposition leader Paul Malong Awan has appealed for unity among the citizens, saying it is necessary in brining and maintaining peace and harmony among the diverse South Sudanese communities.

In a statement issued on Easter, Malong who is the leader of South Sudan United Front/Army and former chief of staff of South Sudan army said a day will come when the people of South Sudan will experience full prosperity.

“The day will come when the people of South Sudan will experience full meanings of prosperity and will be permeated with the attraction of love,” he said.

He emphasized that the strength of a country lies in its unity and called for the people of South Sudan to come together to build a great nation. General Awan said that he prays for unity to prevail in the country and for the people to live together in peace and harmony.

“We’ll surely realize that our strength lies in our unity. I pray that unity for our people and country will prevail and oneness so that we can build a great nation to become a respected nation that we are proud of. A nation where people live together in peace and harmony,” Malong added.
