JUBA – South Sudan’s National Dialogue Steering Committee has released its final report that entirely blames the country’s post-independent conflict, that has killed half a million people, on the First Vice President and SPLM-IO leader Dr. Riek Machar Teny.

Earlier yesterday, a senior member of the National Dialogue Steering Committee told Sudans Post in an exclusive interview in Juba that the report had been withdrawn over differences on how to refer to certain events that preceded the conflict including the infamous Juba Massacre.

The report released to Sudans Post this morning also made no mention, as the cause of conflict, of the December 2013 Juba massacre which triggered widespread rebellion among senior army general leading to the bloody conflict that has brought the country into a devastating economic crisis.

“On the night of the 14th of December 2013, violence broke out in Juba. Dr. Machar and his supporters fled Juba, but some of his colleagues were arrested. This is the root of the current conflict,” the report said, without mentioning the killing that followed the SPLM conference on December 16, 2020.
