Newly appointed officials tasked to prioritise service delivery in Jonglei

The governor gave the charge during the program for the reception of the newly appointed officials in the Jonglei State Secretariat.

BOR – The Governor of South Sudan’s Jonglei state have on Thursday charged his newly appointed state officials to their duties with a call to live above board and be ready to render quality and selfless service to the people of Jonglei State.

The governor gave the charge during the program for the reception of the newly appointed officials in the Jonglei State Secretariat.

The governor announced the appointments of Secretary to the State government, Kur Ayuen Kou Dut, Donge Gai Donge, Commissioner for Revenue Authority, Mabil Geodon Dau, Technical Advisory on Special Programs, Malieth Dak Deng, Advisory for Youth Affairs and Press Secretary, Mr. John Gany Lual, among others.

In his speech during the oath-taking event in Bor, Governor Riek urged the appointees to prioritise service delivery to the citizens of Jonglei State.

“This is a collective choice of well-meaning people of Jonglei State, and you must bring your expertise and wealth of experience to bear to better the lot of our people because there are great expectations from the people to do things right,” said Riek.

He emphasised that they were carefully selected based on their track records and unmatched credentials.

“While I charge you to immediately roll your sleeves for serious work, let me inform you that these appointments were made after due consultations, and I believe you will not disappoint them and the people who have given us this mandate to serve them,” said Riek.

“Whatever position you are assigned today, I urge you to work with utmost responsibility with the interest of our people at heart,” said Riek.

Speaking on behalf of the newly appointed state officials, the Secretary to the State Government, Hon. Kur Ayuen Kou Dut, thanked Governor Riek for the confidence reposed in them to serve and promised to work assiduously to deliver on their mandates.

“We are very excited by this opportunity you have given us to serve you and our dear state. Your Excellency, we know that the task is enormous, but we promise to work in line with your prescribed service delivery ethics of standard, hard work, and perseverance,” the SG said.

The oath-taking ceremony was attended by the Representatives of the Director Generals, Commissioners, state Ministers, Religious leaders, amongst others.
