AWEIL – The clerk of Northern Bahr el Ghazal State transitional legislative assembly, Makol Mou, has died in a vehicle accident.

He was struck by a vehicle while riding a motorcycle with an elderly passenger on Sunday evening near Aweil town.

The passenger sustained injuries. Friends described Mou as a person of integrity.

“He was knocked while almost reaching Aweil and it is something that took us by surprise. He was riding on a motorbike while carrying an old man who survived, but sustained injuries,” said a friend on condition of anonymity.

Condolences have been expressed to the late clerk, who was a teacher before his role in the assembly.
