State Minister of Education Samuel Ador Thon reported that 3,266 pupils—comprising 2,084 boys and 1,184 girls—from 82 primary schools are sitting for the exams this year.
The candidates hail from 54 public and 28 private institutions across 42 examination sectors.
“We are happy that the number is great this year and we are all wishing you the best in your exams,” Ador told the candidates, assuring the public that all examination materials had been safely distributed.
He confirmed that invigilators, supervisors, and security personnel have been deployed across the state to ensure a peaceful and transparent process.
Governor Kok, who inspected the school and officially rang the bell to mark the start of the examinations, urged the pupils to approach the tests with confidence.
“I want our daughters and sons to be confident. Bor A and B will remain at the top of the nation,” the Governor said, highlighting the moment as a major milestone for the state’s education sector.
He encouraged the candidates to view the exams as a crucial step, reaffirming the government’s commitment to supporting their academic growth.
“Your journey does not end here. As you move to secondary education and beyond, your government and partners will continue to support you,” he added.
The State Ministry of Education also extended its appreciation to the National Ministry of General Education and Instruction for its continued support in improving education standards in Jonglei.
