The funds were reportedly intended for medical insurance for Nilepet staff.
The allegations came to light after a letter was sent to the Central Equatoria Police Commissioner by a group of Nilepet staff.
In the letter, the staff claim that the funds have disappeared without a trace.
They are also protesting against the non-payment of clothing allowances for the months of March, June, September, and December 2023, as well as the lack of medical insurance coverage.
Speaking to Sudans Post on Monday, Central Equatoria Police Commissioner Lt. Gen. Nicola Bimo confirmed that the police are investigating the matter.
He stated that the police are looking for the person who posted the information about the alleged misappropriation online.
“We are now looking for those who posted it,” he said, referring to the social media post.
Efforts to reach the Nilepet office for comments have been unsuccessful.
